ASSIST
-Rwanda was founded in July 1999 as a result of a
generalised outcry of many young Rwandans (especially
Children Headed Households (CHHs) families), in the aftermath of
the genocide war of 1994 . Its major tasks were to respond effectively
to the needs of these young people. |

arrival of new and modern machines for Cottage
industries |

This is a newly
imported Bar Soap Manufacturing Machine.It was imported
together with Liquid Soap,Candle and Chalk Manufacturing
Machines. They were obtained under the fund from PDRCUI.
They were installed and are in operation.

travelled to Rwanda to participate in official ceremonies of
launching and distributing 525 local goats to 35
Cooperatives grouping 350 Child
Headed House holds Assist beneficiaries ,supported
by ASSIST Goats rearing project in Nyagatare district

Different activities were established since
1999,for providing employment opportunities to
vulnerable orphans heading families (child headed
households). Now this is normally done through
defferent SERVICES and PROJECTS, which are mostly
managed by beneficiaries themselves.In
the year 2006, the project beneficiaries were engaged

:: Youth Employment Promotion and Children
Sharing Centre |

The
ASSIST Youth Employment Promotion and
Children Sharing Centre is being constructed at
Nyagatare in
the Eastern Province of Rwanda. It will involve
the construction of 8 different buildings .Here
is the part of the library building which
is under construction .The activities now are
supported by DKW. |

Assist Culture Troupe |

In
order to enrich ASSIST-RWANDA beneficiaries with
cultural activities and recreation, ASSIST cultural
Troupe was established to enhance Rwanda Culture
through poems, tales, music, dance and drama. The Troupe
also has a significant role of propagating the message
of Unity and Reconciliation,considering the
catastrophies that befell on Rwanda in 1994(Genocide).
