:: Background and Context ::...

   The state of child living in Rwanda is an outcome of historical results in the post-colonial period, especially after the genocide and war of 1994 .  After the war and genocide that befell the country in 1994, the Government of Rwanda  has been engaged in a broad and ambitious program of re-organizing state institutions for better service delivery which shall among others help in the re-integration of the children who were affected the horrible tragedy of 1994 ,by especially  the great loss of their beloved parents, relatives and the alike into the community.  In the similar way , there are other children who were also affected by missing  of their parents and relatives who participated in the tragic act of genocide. Some of these children’s parents and relatives ,fled the country and others are under house detention (over 145 000 under detention ). In the Rwandan context, the capacity of living for these both categories is a formidable long-term challenge as no body except Government and a few charitable organizations minds catering for these vulnerable souls. This implies the need to address this problem and observe it as a big challenge entirely to the Rwandan society. It broadly requires to approaching children and youth of both categories and help them become good citizens of tomorrow........
