|
The project
of Bee keeping was started in 2005 with the fund from British Embassy in
Rwanda .This project is located in Eastern Province of
Rwanda specifically in Kahi an Nyagatare
District.
The need to establish a
Bee-keeping project in Eastern province was prompted by
:
First ,the need to reinforce the capacities of the
existing ASSIST Cottage industry project (candle ,shoes
polish ,and soap production) ,in the same area. Means
that the ASSIST RWANDA -Bee keeping project
will first and foremost serve to provide the highly
needed raw materials called Bee Wax that are used in the
existing ASSIST cottage industry project at Nyagatare
Municipality .
Third , the project provide Honey, which is high
demand not only in Eastern province but nation
wide. Means
that bee keeping is a strong and
incomes generating Project.
Second ,the Eastern Province is suitable for
bee keeping ,according to its environment ( savannah ) |
